Clothing? What clothing?
Yes, it's a bikini, but for someone like me who:
- Doesn't own a sewing machine
- Failed sewing in Home-Ec
- Has never made a real pattern before
This was a pretty big deal! It took me a couple of tries to get the main part of the bikini done, and I had to resize it a couple times as I went. The finished pattern has 9 individual panels, including the straps. The whole thing was hand stitched and painted. The straps attach to the inside of the rear piece with velcro, so there's no "slipping" worries.
Since the bra portion of her bikini is attached to the bodystocking, I only needed to work on the cups individually. After painting the snowflake pattern onto them, I cut the tops to match the shape of Shiva's bra, and glued them directly onto the painted bodystocking.
The Sarong...
It was really hard to find a good shot of her sarong on-line, so I had to practice my quick-sketching skills as my friend played the game on a large TV. Once I finally got it, I decided that it would be easier to dye blue over yellow than vice-versa, so I got a yard of sheer yellow fabric and dark blue and torquoise dye. I created the swirling patterns by hand brushing the dye onto the fabric.
Was I was done coloring it, I attached the top directly to the straps of the bikini, so I wouldn't need to worry about it slipping off or bunching up all day. In addition, this covers up the fact that the right side of the bikini is elastic, opposed to leather straps. The three rings at the bottom are vinyl tubing which I glued together and painted gold. (The same color as the ankle bangle on her left leg.)

Nah, it's just bra cups and fabric paint.
To make the snowflake pattern on Shiva's bra,
I first created a mask out of sticky vinyl,
then painted over it with the blue fabric paint.
