A little bit about this character...
In the game Final Fantasy X for the Playstation, a girl named Yuna can summon powerful spirits called Aeons to assist her in battle. The Aeons are the reincarnated souls of people who sacrificed their lives in order to become a "Fayth". A Fayth is the remains of a holy warrior, who waits in a temple to be called into battle by chosen summoners.
Most of the Aeons are associated with an element of nature (fire, ice, lightning, etc). Shiva's element is Ice, and her very appearance says "cool". Her movements are smooth and calculated, and the soft tinkling of icicles follows her where ever she goes. As a finalé, she blows a frozen kiss to the enemy, then shatters them by snapping her fingers, underlining the fact that this Big Bad Ice Momma is not to be messed with.
Why I chose to cosplay this character...
I've been a fan of Final Fantasy since the first one came out for the NES all those years ago. All of the costumes in FFX are beautiful, and I had a hard time deciding between going as Rikku or Lulu. But when I saw this character, the other two went straight out the window. She's sexy, strong, has a wild hairstyle, and every color in the rainbow in her design.
