I had almost finished my Final Fantasy 11 (Online) Shiva for last year's Otakon, but due to everything that went wrong before that con, didn't quite finish it in time. So instead, I saved her to wear in the Cosplay at Katsucon this year. My friend Thea needed a "RPG character" for the skit she and her friends were planning to do, and I got volunteered.
I've never entered a costume in for Craftsmanship judging before, but since the rest of my group was, I had to do it too. Oon the registration form, they asked us to write a 25 word (or less) paragraph stating "Why do you think you should win a Craftsmanship award?" I wrote:
"I really don't want an award. I think that the fact that I've completed it and learned new techniques from it's creation are reward enough."
...I won Best of Class in my division.-_-'
In fact, our cosplay group swept the Journeyman division completely. o_o'
Once again, I forgot my camera...not that I would have had any place to carry it... so I didn't get any good shots of the assembled costume. -_-'
