"Cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater."
I had been told by several editors that my pencils* were strong, but my inking** was weak. I tried working on my inking alone for several years, but I just didn't seem to get any better.
In response to this, I stopped inking and began to color my pencils instead. Additionally, I sometimes use a program called Adobe Illustrator to "ink" my rough sketches. Some artists might say that not using conventional means is "cheating", but I figure, hey, if the picture looks good in the end, does it really matter what method I used?

* "Pencils" is the term used for comic pages that have not been finalized with ink.
** "Inking" is the term used for the technique of tracing and enhancing your pencil lines for better clarity and contrast.
